| RTP | a long-run theoretical average, not a promise about your session |
Slots are entertainment with a built-in house edge, so over time the maths favours the operator. Return to player (RTP) is a long-run average measured across many spins, not a promise about your next session. Short runs swing, sometimes sharply. Changing bet size or game pace does not alter the house edge or turn past outcomes into a guide.
Plan your spend before you start. Decide a total budget for this hobby and stick to it. Set a deposit limit in the cashier before your first wager if the site offers one, and take cooling-off breaks when you feel pressure building. Do not chase a loss, and do not try to recover quickly by increasing stakes or frequency.
Useful signs to notice include spending more than planned, using money meant for essentials, borrowing, hiding play from people close to you, feeling irritable or preoccupied between sessions, skipping sleep or responsibilities, or needing to raise stakes to get the same excitement. These are flags, not judgments. If several ring true, it is worth pausing and talking to someone.
Account tools that many operators provide include deposit limits, loss limits, session or reality checks, time-outs and full self-exclusion. On rocky.casino, Self Exclusion and several help pages did not load for us when checked, so we cannot confirm which tools are actually available or how to apply them. If the cashier offers limits, set them before you play and review them soberly.
New Zealand's own casino minimum age is 20. rocky.casino publishes no age at all, and the terms page says you must register with accurate personal information and comply with any age and residency requirements that apply where you play. If you are not sure which rules apply to you, stop and check first.
Free, confidential help exists in New Zealand and is listed below this text with phone numbers. rocky.casino says, 'Your provincial health services can point you to resources, counselling and treatment options available in your area', which fits its Canadian focus and names no New Zealand service. One thing worth knowing about Rocky Casino
Rocky Casino's responsible-gambling page describes deposit limits, loss limits, session timers and self-exclusion, but it names no helpline at all. It tells the reader that "your provincial health services" can point them to support, which is Canadian phrasing and of no use in New Zealand. Its self-exclusion page would not open for us on 25 August 2026.
New Zealand's own casino minimum age is 20. Rocky Casino publishes no age at all, and its terms push the question back to you: "You must register with accurate personal information and comply with any age and residency requirements that apply where you play." Nothing on this page is legal advice, and we make no claim about whether any particular offshore site may lawfully accept you.

Player protection during the transition
New Zealand is moving to a licensed online casino regime focused on player protections. The Department of Internal Affairs says obligations fall on operators and advertising, not players, and that a public register of licensed casinos is expected, but does not exist yet. Until licences are issued, there are no DIA licensed platforms to carry those scheme protections, so offshore, unlicensed sites do not carry DIA licensing protections.
New Zealand's casino minimum age is 20, per the DIA. rocky.casino publishes no minimum age anywhere on the site, and its terms page says: "You must register with accurate personal information and comply with any age and residency requirements that apply where you play."
